Molly McMillan, OTR/L founded Manhattan Myofascial Release in 2000. Molly is an Occupational Therapist who’s been specializing in the John F. Barnes, P.T. method of MFR since 1996. She is an advanced therapist, and instructs courses with John F. Barnes, P.T.’s MFR seminars internationally. She often teaches local introductory courses, and has developed courses to assist practitioners with the day to day challenges they encounter in their practices. See the courses and workshops section for more information. As a therapist, she has had the joy of working with hundreds of people with many different diagnoses successfully. She is highly skilled in using her hands, head and intuition to evaluate clients thoroughly then develop a treatment plan designed uniquely for them. Molly is passionate about her work, and sincerely enjoys sharing this information with others. As a teacher she is able to educate with great clarity, and is dedicated to the student’s individual growth. Molly works in the New York City area at different times throughout the year. I specialize in the alleviation of chronic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, women's health, and orthopedic/musculoskeletal conditions. I believe in quality care that focuses on prevention and treatment and strongly believe in treating the symptom and the cause, so that patients may achieve long-term gains in their health. I encourage a multidisciplinary and integrative approach. Treatments may include myofascial release (John F. Barnes' approach), Arvigo techniques of Maya abdominal therapy, connective tissue manipulation, craniosacral therapy, trigger point release, soft tissue mobilizations, nerve mobilizations, joint mobilizations, sacroiliac dysfunction correction, lymphatic drainage, visceral manipulation, yoga, Pilates, and reiki.
